Facilities Development Goals / Priority Objectives
Objective:
The development of district facilities will be guided by the priority to meet identified educational needs and to support programs designed to address those needs. Facility planning will focus on flexibility, community involvement, and cost-effectiveness while aligning with the district’s educational objectives.
- Facilities Development Goals:
The Governing Board has established the following goals for facilities development:- Integrate facilities planning with the district’s comprehensive educational program to ensure alignment with long-term educational goals.
- Develop educational specifications for school buildings based on clearly identified learner needs.
- Design facilities with flexibility to allow for future program modifications or the implementation of new programs.
- Ensure school building designs are as cost-effective as possible while still meeting the educational needs of students effectively.
- Engage the community, school staff, subject matter experts, and incorporate current research and trends in the development of building plans and specifications.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analyses comparing capital expenditures with long-term maintenance and operational expenses to inform decision-making.
- Analyze core facilities in relation to potential future expansion needs.
- Design school buildings for potential community use when feasible and appropriate.
