STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES
The objective of this policy is to ensure cooperation between the District and state educational agencies to achieve educational goals and objectives. The policy outlines procedures for requesting waivers from administrative rules to enhance school improvement initiatives.

- The District shall cooperate with state educational agencies to achieve educational goals and objectives.
Waiver from Administrative Rules

The District may request a waiver from administrative rules, in accordance with A.A.C. R7-2-801, by submitting a request to the State Superintendent of Public Instruction for approval by the State Board of Education. The waiver request shall include:
- Evidence of compliance with state laws and State Board of Education rules.
- A statement identifying goals to be accomplished and how the waiver will enhance school improvement.
- A three-year plan for school improvement.
- Identification of specific rules for which the waiver is requested.
- Evidence of a public hearing allowing for parental and public input into the proposed three-year plan.

Schools within the District, represented by the principal, may submit a waiver proposal to the District Superintendent.

The Governing Board will forward waiver requests or renewal requests to the State Superintendent of Public Instruction within 30 days.
