Funding Sources Outside the School System

 

Purpose:

To outline the District’s procedures for seeking and managing funding from sources outside the school system, including private foundations and other financial aid sources, in accordance with Arizona law.

Grant Proposal Submission:

  1. Submission of Proposals:
    • The District may submit proposals to private foundations and other sources of financial aid to support activities such as:
      • Innovative projects
      • Feasibility studies
      • Long-range planning
      • Research and development
      • Other educational needs that benefit students and staff.
  2. Approval by Governing Board:
    • Timelines permitting, all grant proposals must receive approval from the Governing Board prior to submission to the funding agency.
    • The Superintendent shall establish administrative guidelines to ensure all proposal ideas are properly reviewed and approved by the Board.

Receiving and Managing Gifts, Grants, and Bequests:

  1. Receipt and Disposal of Gifts/Grants:
    • The Governing Board may receive, hold, and dispose of any gift, grant, or bequest of property, equipment, or other assets in compliance with state law and the intent of the donor.
  2. Acceptance of Monetary Donations:
    • The Governing Board may accept gifts, grants, or devises of money. Any unused funds shall be managed and disposed of in accordance with applicable laws.
