BUS10.3 - Vandalism and Property Damage

Section B - Business

Objective:
The district will take legal and disciplinary actions against individuals who commit vandalism on school property, ensuring the safety and preservation of facilities.

  1. Legal Action:
    The Superintendent is authorized to file criminal complaints and pursue legal action against individuals who vandalize district property. This includes damage caused by arson or actions that pose a safety hazard.

  2. Disciplinary Action for Students:
    Students involved in vandalism will face disciplinary measures, including suspension or expulsion, and may be referred to law enforcement. A meeting with the student's parents is required for any such incidents.

  3. Parental Liability:
    Parents will be held liable for any willful destruction of school property by their minor children, and the district may pursue legal action to recover the cost of damages.
